Norman Louis Anderson was born on November 23, 1925, the son of Louis and Annie Norberg, in Thief River Falls. He grew up in Cedar Township, (T 157N R42W Sec 15), near Middle River. He attended school there and later graduated from the University of Minnesota Crookston.

He was united in marriage to Irene Olson on March 25, 1950. They lived n Middle River where they farmed and raised registered sheep. He was past president of the Minnesota Wool Growers Association among other agricultural related boards.

He started selling insurance for Farm Bureau in 1962, becoming division manager in 1965. He began his real estate career in 1969, and rural appraising in 1974, up till the present. He was a member of the National Realtors Land Institute and was President of the Minnesota Chapter in 1994-95.

Norman lived a full and exciting life including panning for gold in Alaska, trips to Sweden and Japan. He loved photography, working with computers, and getting together with his friends and family.

He was able to do what he loved, which was selling land, up to the very end. He once said, "See that farm over there? I've sold that at least four times now"! He knew everyone, and everyone knew Norm.

He was the rock of our family and will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his son Mike (Paula) Anderson and daughter Jackie Ruud, all of Thief River Falls. Grandchildren Lee Ann (Eric) Hokenson, Sheldon Ruud, Casey (Kristy) Anderson, Travis (Samantha) Ruud, and Brady Anderson. Great-grandchildren Tristan and Derrick. Seven sisters Alice, Rachel, Gladys, Eva, Lois, Carol and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard.
