He was born January 31, 1952 in Ottumwa to Charles K. and Verna Darlene Ramsey Abel.
Surviving are his brothers, Bryan (Melanie) Abel of Cedar Rapids and Brent Abel of Ankeny; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlene Reid.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Abel Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tenco Foundation.
