Burton Clifden Fairfield, 75, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., Oct. 2, 1981.

He is survived by his wife Rose Fairfield, Klamath Falls, Ore.; daughter, Loraine Payden, San Bruno, Calif.; nephew, Ted Fairfield, Pleasanton, Calif., Clay Carley, Sebastopol, Calif.; niece Joan Michael, Auburn, Calif.; sister, Grace Carley, San Mateo, Calif.; also numerous other nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Burton Clifford Fairfield was my great-uncle (my grandfather's brother). He was born in San Benito, San Juan Co., California, the son of Albert Chandler Fairfield and Sarah Lillian (Pullen) Fairfield. Burton spent much of his life in Modesto, California, where he was a truck driver and fireman. He married Rose Burke in May of 1948. They lived for many years in the San Francisco area. They retired to Klamath Falls. "Uncle Burt" died of cancer in Klamath Falls on October 2, 1981.
