Robert Leo Mikel Robert Leo Mikel, known to most as Bob, of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Campbell, Missouri on August 25, 1929 to J.B. Mikel and Belvia Mikel (nee Abernathy) and passed away on September 14, 2009 at the age of 80 years and 20 days. Bob was a devoted Christian and current member of St. Clair Southern Baptist Church in St. Clair, Missouri. For 21 years he had been a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Missouri where he had been ordained as a Deacon in 1979. During his working years Bob had been employed by General Motors in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring after 22 years of service. He was also a retiree of United Auto Workers Local 25. He was an outgoing man and loved spending time outdoors. He loved baseball and for many years served as a baseball coach. Hunting and fishing were other hobbies and he was an avid gardener. He was a handyman that could fix anything and was a talented musician, often entertaining the family as he played his guitar and sang. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Belvia Mikel; two brothers, Ivan Mikel and Leroy Mikel and two sisters, Laura Rutledge and Anges Ormsby. Visitation was held after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Antioch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Missouri with the Rev. Bill Savage and the Rev. Ralph Green officiating. Interment in the Antioch Baptist Cemetery, Chesterfield, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Russell Colonial Funeral Home of St. Clair, Missouri.
