Clellan Omar Beougher was born January 1, 1918, at Orion, Kansas, to Omar and Ida (Purdum) Beougher. He passed away June 27, 2000, in the Salina Regional Medical Center, Santa Fe Campus, at Salina, Kansas, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, 26 days.

C.O. attended most of his school years in Gove County. He moved to Lenora, where he graduated from Lenora High School with the Class of 1936.

On January 22, 1939, he was united in marriage with Ethel Anderson at Wakeeney, Kansas. She survives, of their home.

C.O. attended Gove United Methodist Church. he enjoyed painting horses and outdoor scenes with watercolors. C.O. also like carpentry, woodworking, gardening and hunting. He was an avid fisherman, and a naturally gifted musician. C.O. taught himself to play the harmonica, fiddle, banjo and guitar. he played in "Hackberry Boys" and "Country Buddies" bands for 20 years. C.O. was a farmer, retiring in 1983.

Other survivors include four sons, William "Bill" and wife, Joyce, James "Jim" and wife, Sheila, Steve and wife Janette, all of Gove, and Philip and wife, Torrie, of Hays; three daughters, Shirley Walker and husband, Roby, of Lathrop, MO., Judy Zerr and husband, Delbert, of Salina, and Suzi Goetz and husband, Stan, of Dodge City; 20 grandchildren; 16 grea-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Beougher and wife, Addie, of Topeka; a sister, Delores "Penny" Enwall, of Pocatello, ID; and numberous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Verdon "Spud", and Loren Beougher; a sister, Loree Peterson.

C.O. Will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for many years to come.
