This is my great-grandfather. He was the third of four children of Martin HOEKSTRA and Jennie TON. His siblings were Grace (1887 - 1975), Maude Mae (1890 - 1991), and Peter Louis Ton HOEKSTRA (1895 - 1955).
In 1916, he married my great-grandmother, Lillian Fern STRONG (1897 - 1967). They had three daughters, my grandmother Ruth Lillian (1919 - 2001), Hope Mildred (1920 - 1968), and Mary Louise HOEKSTRA (1923 - 1994). After Lillian's death, John married Anna STULP (1916 - 1992).
