Edgar Thomas Tweed, 55, a prominent business leader in the area for the past 25 years, died Monday, July 5, in a Salem hospital where he was admitted June 30.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at Ringo-Cornwell Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be at Mt. Crest Abbey Mausoleum in Salem.
Mr. Tweed was a native of Marion county, born in the Central Howell area. He attended schools in Salem and was a graduate of Willamette University. He was a former president of Woodburn rotary club.
Except for two years when he taught school in Eastern Oregon he had resided here all his life. He was a partner in Lenon Implement Co. since 1940.
He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal church in Woodburn and a member of Woodburn Rotary and Salem Elks.
He served on the Silverton union high school board for about 10 years and was active in scouting.
He was married to the late Waivo Lenon, who died last October.
Survivors include daughter; son Thomas of Canby; mother Mrs. John Tweed, Silverton; brother Dr. John Robert Tweed, Phoenix, Ariz; sisters Mrs. Marjorie Kollin, Eugene, and Mrs. Aileen Perimutter, San Francisco.
