JOHN S. ABBOTT, farmer, was born in Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, June 18, 1826. In 1855 he emigrated to Knox county, Ohio, locating in Mt. Vernon. In the fall of the same year he purchased the farm on which he is now living, in Clinton township, located on the Granville road, two miles from Mt. Vernon, and has sine made farming his occupation. February 15, 1865, he married Miss Mary E. Johnston, born in Clinton township, Knox county, Ohio, March 11, 1842, daughter of James and Mary J. Johnson. They moved on his farm, where they are now living. Their union resulted in one child, a daughter.
