Mr. Edler was born in Kansas City, Missouri. When he was 6 weeks old his parens died and he was adopted by Harry and Estaline Elder of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
He was 11 years old when the father who adoped him also died.
After graduating from high school, he joined the Marine Corps during World War II, serving for three years in the South Pacific theater of operations.
The mother who adopted him died whilie he was in the military service.
In 1952, he married his first wife, Ivy Mignonette Swearingen, in Oakland, Calif. The marriage lasted three years and he later married Catherine Smith in Reno.
After the death of his second wife in 1995, he re-married his first wife in Klamath Falls on Aug. 6, 1997.
Mr. Elder was a truck driver and retired from Sea-Land Service when he was 62 yeas old. He was a member of Teamster Local 70 in Oakland.
Among his hobbies were camping, travel, football and watching television. He also enjoyed cats and dogs. As a youth, he was a member of DeMolay.
Survivors include his wife, Ivy Elder of Tulelake, California; son, Calvin Hull of Laramie, Wyoming; son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Hull of Laramie; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Interment in Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno.
