Melvin L. Dreasher, 62, of Topeka, passed away October 1, 2010 at Midland Hospice Care Hospice House. He was born May 18, 1948 in Lawrence, KS the son of Clarence James and Norma Jean Mack Dreasher.

Melvin lived in the Topeka area and graduated from Seaman High School in 1966. He attended Washburn University. Melvin worked for Goodyear in the warehouse for over 25 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers Local Union 307. During the time he worked for Goodyear, he also worked for NAPA and owned and operated Topeka Snow Equipment and snow removal business with his wife, Karen.

Melvin married Karen Graf Davis June 23, 1973 at Hope Lutheran Church in Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Kay Dreasher (May 11, 2005), his father, Clarence James Dreasher, and a brother, Ed Dreasher.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Troy R. Davis; mother, Norma Jean Crites; sisters, Frances (Elmer) Eckhoff, Clara (John Jr.) Bailey, Margie (Leo) Stich, Debbie (Randy) Meggison; brothers, Bill (Cat) Dreasher, Mike (Mary) Dreasher, Rex Dreasher, Rick (Libby) Dreasher; grandchildren, Nathan and Kala Davis; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews.

At Melvin's request, no services are planned. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery at a later date. Per his wishes, there will be a "Remembrance Celebration" October 24, 2010 from 3-7 p.m. at the North Topeka Saddle Club, 7341 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
