Fred L. Ball, age 81, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hammond.

Fred was retired from Inland Steel and he proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of the VFW and also a member of the Masonic Lodge #735 in Griffith.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Travis Ball of Hammond; stepdaughter, Andrea Pepler-Murray of Valparaiso; granddaughters, Brittany Ball of Chicago, Tammy Rhoten of Griffith, Indiana, Tracey Murphy of Texas; three great-grandsons; Bryan Rhoten and wife Sarah of Highland, Indiana, Dan Rhoten of New Market, Indiana, Jeremy Teets of Texas; and stepsister, Esther Davis of Alabama.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Ball formerly of Vandergrift, PA, who died May, 6, 2008 and stepson, Bill Pepler.

Relatives and friends may visit from 11AM-1PM on Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA, where a memorial service will follow at 1PM with the Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating.
Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery, Milton, PA.
Arrangements are being handled by Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc
