Adele Jackson was the daughter of Governor Charles Jackson of Rhode Island. She was incredibly beautiful. She gave birth to 6 children and four of them died in infancy, three are buried in the same plot that she is. She was 12 years younger than her husband. He died when she was only 36, and she married Edward Going, who was much younger than she was. He died only a few years later. In later years she seems to have lived for some time with her son, Henry L. Jackson Junior, in Newton Massachusetts, and she died in St. Margaret's Hospital in Boston Massachusetts at quite a young age following an operation to relieve neuralgic pain in her face by removing the Gasserian Ganglion.
