Mrs. Clara Florina D'Arpini, 79, died in the emergency room of Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Friends called in the Rupp Funeral Home where a scripture service was said. Funeral services were in the funeral home, and in St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Terrence Kerner officiated and burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. She was the daughter of John and Henrietta (Blaum) Rodey. She married Saturno D'Arpini on Sept. 23, 1925, in St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1976. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Clara was survived by three sons, Robert J., Harold A. and Saturno John, all of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Eva A.) Denno, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, five sisters and two brothers.

~~~IN MEMORY OF CLARA~~~
"Clara and "Tony" celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Sept. 23, 1976. The children hosted it and every relative and friend they ever knew was invited and attended. Gram was a frugal lady, and she complained all the way that everything was too expensive and us kids should not spend our money on them. We insisted and told her she had to go buy a pretty dress or get one picked out for her, whether she liked it or not. She finally went a week before the party, and bought a pretty peachy pink dress. All we could hear was that it cost $50. But then, she did like how it looked, and it did fit her just right, and of course, she received lots of compliments on it.
Well, she saved that dress, and asked to be buried in it. It was the most beautiful dress she had ever bought. And when I take flowers to her grave, I try to get peachy pink ones in rememberance of her love for the dress she did not want to get."
REST IN HEAVENLY PEACE.
