Aunt Billie was a loving, caring person. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lee MCBROOM on 17 Dec 1956 in DqQuincy LA. She was an elementary school teacher.

Billie Cooley McBroom, 72, of Houston formerly of Westlake, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 in a Houston care facility.
She is survived by her son, Michael McBroom and wife, Kimberly and daughter Robin Clarke and husband, John; grandchildren, Elissa and Kylie McBroom, Adam, Cannon and Robert Boudreaux; sister, Bonnie Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McBroom.
A gathering of family and friends for a time of remembrance will be Monday, December 14, 2009 from 2 until 4 pm at Autumn Creek Baptist Church, 6735 Barker Cypress, Houston. Funeral and burial services will be in Louisiana under direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

After her retirement, she continued to educate through volunteering in the elementary school. Billie had a love of many things but most of all she enjoyed international travel She is survived by her son, Michael McBroom and wife, Kimberly and daughter Robin Clarke and husband, John; grandchildren, Elissa and Kylie McBroom, Adam, Cannon and Robert Boudreaux; sister, Bonnie Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McBroom. A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in Johnson Funeral Home with private graveside services to follow. Rev. Mark Theriot will officiate. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 12:30 until 2 pm on Tuesday.
