Betty was the seventh of nine children born to Walter Raleigh and Maggie Florence (McKeithan) Kivett. She married Wayman Hartford Cox in 1948 and they were the parents of two sons: Dannie Lee and Louis Raleigh.

RAMSEUR- Betty Kivett Cox, 81, of 4795 Moffitt Mill Road, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur.
