Our loving husband, uncle and friend, Richard "Dick" Elwood Hatch, passed away peacefully at the 'Odyssey Hospice Care Center' in Las Vegas, Oct. 10, 2010, at 5 a.m. He was born June 29, 1924, in Jensen, Utah, to Jeremiah and Millie Trujillo Hatch. He was the fourth of 10 children. He was raised and educated in the Uintah Basin. Dick was called to serve in the U.S. Navy in Australia during World War II. After his return to the States, he married LaVerne Hughes and later divorced. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Chahon Bronson, in 1952. They have spent 58 wonderful years together. Dick will always be remembered for the kindness of his heart and his devotion to Dot, the rest of the extended family and friends. He loved working with his hands and making things, especially braiding rugs and giving them away. He is survived by his loving wife, Dot; brothers, Bill (Fern) of Price, Utah, and Bart (Margie) of Las Vegas; sister, Ramona (Gary Cooper) Roman of Las Vegas; two very special sisters-in-law, Paula Hatch and Lala Hatch; two brothers-in-law, Lynn Ross and Boyd Bowden; and countless nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Jean, Leo and Gerald; and sisters, Patsy, Jenny and Dorothy. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday Oct. 16, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Interment, with full Navy military honors, will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
