NORMAN C BEECHER
VERONA - Norman C Beecher, age 81, of Oatman Road passed away Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2008 at St. Luke's Medical Center. Norman was born on May 24, 1927 in Verona, New York, a son of the late Joseph and Carolyn (Croneiser) Beecher and attended Verona Schools.
During World War II, Norman proudly served his country with the United States Army.
On September 9, 1950, Norman and Evelyn Pawlikowski were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church, Rome, and have shared a loving union of over fifty-seven years together.
Norman retired from the Rome Developmental Center in August of 1988 and was also a self-employed farmer and self- employed contractor.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Verona and a former trustee of Rathbunville Cemetery where he at one time served as sexton of the cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and Frank Denette of Rhode Island, Wendy and Brian Pawlikowski of Westmoreland; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kurt Beecher of Vernon Center, Kevin and Carol Beecher of Verona; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Norlene Peppe of NJ; and several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion Abby. Norman was predeceased by one son, Carl Beecher in May of 2001 and his ten brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc. 23 Front Street, Vernon. Mr. Beecher's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10"00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Main Street Verona. Burial will follow in Rathbunville Cemetery, Verona, New York.
