Ethel Hapeman Sadler Hamilton was the daughter of Bloomfield, N.J., mayor Fred Sadler and a descendant of the Hapeman and Sadler families of Pine Plains. She married Spencer Cone Hamilton, Jr., in 1917, and lived in Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, and Verona, New Jersey. She had one daughter, three grandsons, and lived to see two of her four great-grandchildren.
