Mrs. Charlotte Jackson Desmond, wife of the late Dennis Desmond of Redding, died yesterday in a local rest home. She was 78.
Mrs. Desmond was born Feb 16, 1873 in California. She moved to Shasta county when a girl and lived here the rest of her life. Her late husband was a Redding businessman for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Desmond leaves a son, Sgt John T. Desmond of the highway patrol; a sister, Mrs. Maggie McGue of Chico and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Desmond of Redding.
Rosary will be recited at Meininger's mortuary today at 8 p.m. Reqium mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic church tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Old St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery."
