Died aged 61 years; Widower of Agnes and father of Gunner William Edward Warner who was a casualty of the Great War.He was aged 22.He served with "B" Bty. 298th Bde.Royal Horse Artillery.Service No 622230.He enlisted voluntarily in September 1914 and died on 6th June 1917.His parents lived at Church Hall, Kelvedon, Essex. He is buried at Hop Store Cemetery,Plot I. Row A. Grave 37.
He was laid to rest with Agnes.

This memorial is erected in loving memory of WILLIAM EDWARD WARNER Gunner 2/1. Essex Battery, R.F.A. died of wounds received in action June 6th 1917 at the beginning of the Battle of Messines His body is buried at Hop Store Cemetery,Vlamertinghe,age 22 years.
He heard the call of duty and obeyed; he fought to shield the weak against the strong in Belgium; he found a soldier's grave that right might be triumphant over wrong; he fought the fight that men might still be free; he gave up home and kindred, gave his life and future generations; yet to be; will reap the harvest at his sacrifice.

In loving memory of AGNES the beloved wife of WILLIAM WARNER born Feb. 13th 1869, died Oct. 4th 1903.
