Mrs. Esther Sad Johnson was born October 10, 1898, in Dover Township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Eidfjord congregation by Rev. P. A. Thoreson. She was married to Hans Johnson November 1, 1919, at the parsonage in Hannaford by Rev. Thoreson. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have made their home in Bartley and in Dover Townships.
In December of last year, Mrs. Johnson submitted to an operation for cancer at Rochester, Minn., but a cure was not affected. She passed away at her home in Dover, Wednesday, April 30, at the age of 31 years, 6 months and 20 days.
Funeral services were held at the Eidfjord Church Saturday, May 3. Rev. E. O. Lee officiated. An unusually large number of friends and neighbors gathered for the last rites.
Deceased leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Hans Johnson, and four children, Clifford, Ronald, Laurell and Evelyn; also her aged mother, Mrs. Anna Sad, and two brothers, Ole Sad of Dover Township and Oscar Sad of Camas, Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. D LaFlash, Kettle River, Minn., and Mrs. Carl Heyerdahl, Walum.

We take this means to extend our most sincere thanks to all our friends and neighbors who in so many ways helped us in our bereavement. Especially do we thank the Eidfjord Ladies Aid, the Dover school children and Rev. Lee. We thank you all most heartily.
