OBITUARY: The Enterprise-Journal, McComb MS, 15 Oct 2006, Sunday
Paul D. Mullendore, 92, of Magnolia, died Oct. 13, 2006, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia. Services are 2 p.m. today at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Charles Ray will officiate.
Mr. Mullendore was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Wooster, Ohio. He was the son of the Rev. George D. Mullendore and Sarah Alice Blanche McVay.
He retired from the Department of Agriculture and served as an Elder of the Magnolia Presbyterian Church. He was a 40-year member and past Worthy Patron of Gussie Evans Chapter 243 O.E.S. and was active until his death. He was a 40-plus-year member of the Sincerity Lodge No. 214 of Magnolia. Mr. Mullendore was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a volunteer at Beacham Memorial Hospital and a leader of the Boy Scouts of America in Magnolia. He also taught an AARP class, Arrive Alive at 55.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Inez May Mullendore; and a brother, George A. Mullendore.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul D. Mullendore Jr. and wife Rikki of Amite, La; a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn M. Land and husband Darryl Gene of Golden Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Maurice M. Mullendore and wife Nan of Mussel Shoals, Ala.; two sisters, Sarah M. Payne of Sweet Home, Ore., and Eliza Bea Lohmeyer of Exeter, Calif.; two grandchildren, Lynette M. Edwards and Allie Jo Land; two great grandchildren, Allison Edwards and Russell Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Magnolia Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mortuary Benefits Association, P.O. Box 300 McComb, MS 39649
