George Burt Purple was my paternal great grand father. He was born to James L Wakeley and Louisa Matilda Burt.
He, and his brother Harry Ebenezer, changed their last name to Purple when their mother married Jasper LeGrand Purple (after James l Wakeley passed away). Louisa passed away in 1864 according to the family bible.

Summer 2012 - I had his stone sand blasted as well as his wife Julia's stone.
July 2021 : Adam Austin Arnold gave me the photo of George in his fireman's uniform (which I use as his profile photo).
May 2023 : while reading letters etc of Camilla Purple's research, I came to find out that his middle name was Burt, his mother's maiden name.
