PFC. Jordan M. Byrd, 19, of Grantsville, Utah, died Oct. 13, 2010 in Yahya Kheyl, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

He is survived by his wife, Savanna, son Ayden, father Justin (Jennifer) Brost, mother and stepfather, Roberta and Scott Pitt, sisters Abby Byrd, Maddie (Mitch) Klupenher, Sidney, Emmily Brost, brothers Nicholas Torrence Brown, Tyler Corbett, Trevor Brost, grandparents Richard and Dorothy Pitt, Billy and Nancy Byrd, Gerald and Juanita Brost of Cody, Wyoming.
