In Memory of ...... SMS Andre Roland Guillet.
*** Senior Master Sergeant Guillet was a member of the 1st Air Commando Wing. On May 18, 1966, he was serving as an observer in a Cessna Bird Dog Observation Aircraft (O-1G) on a mission west of the Demilitarized Zone and just south of Ban Karai Pass, Laos, when his aircraft was shot down and burst into flames. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.

Guillet went missing in Laos in May of 1966 when the plane he was in was shot down. The Waterbury man was serving in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.

Other Personnel In Incident: Lee D. Harley (missing)


Capt Lee D. Harley was the pilot and AM1 Andre Guillet was serving as observer aboard an O1E aircraft which departed on May 18, 1966 for a mission over Laos.

While in Laos, west of the demilitarized zone and just south of the famed Ban Karai Pass, the little spotter plane was shot down.

Air Force officials told the families that the plane burst into flames on impact and the crew could not be recovered.

Andre R. Guillet was promoted to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and Lee D. Harley to the rank of Major during the period they were maintained missing.

His remains were not recovered.
