Matthew Casey was born and raised on his parents farm in Lakeville Twp.. He was married to Margaret May 26, 1884 and moved to a farm in Syness Twp. Stevens Co. MN.. Nothing is known about Matthew's wife except that it appears she married Matthew in St. Paul. Matthew and his wife are buried in Morris MN.

BRIDGET BRENNAN (1808-1874)
Mark Casey was born in Ireland and emigrated to the U.S. He and Bridget were married in Ireland and four of their children were born there. The family settled in New Jersey about 1848 and by 1854 the family had moved to Chicago Illinois. In 1855, Mark homesteaded a farm in Section 4 of Lakeville Twp. It is not certain when Mark died but there is no record of him after 1860. It is assumed that Mark is buried in buried St. John's Cemetery.

Mark had two sons that served with Company C of the Fourth Regiment Infantry during the Civil War. James died in 1862 of injuries received at the battle of Iuka and Patrick was discharged in 1865 and returned to Lakeville. When Patrick died in 1916 he was survived by one sister and three brothers.
