Gertrude Louise was born February 27, 1916 in Manhattan, Kansas, to Cova and Joseph Mallon of Ogden, Kansas, and was the fourth of eight children.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Wayne Whitmore and wife, Nancy, of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Marian Louise Pritchett and husband, Alan, of Boise, ID; daughter, Pamela Ann Gutierrez and husband, Danny, of Montgomery, IL; grandchildren, Cathy den Dulk and husband, Len, and Daniel Barton Whitmore of Tempe, AZ, Wendi Lou Whitmore of San Diego, CA, Dana Gerkin and husband, Chris, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Beau C. Black of Montgomery, IL, Audrey Lynn Fegan and Matthew Adam Pritchett of Boise, ID; four great-grandchildren, Anya, Ashley, Tyrese, and Kiara. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews across the United States will miss "Aunt Gertie."
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; five brothers, Edward of New York, Donald of Arizona, Charles and Paul of California, Robert of Kansas; and two sisters, Marie and Patricia of Texas.
Boise services were held on Saturday, December 1 at Summers Funeral Home. Final funeral services will be held in Manhattan, Kansas, on Wednesday, December 5, at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, under the direction of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Ogden, Kan.
