EXETER, Mo. — Christine V. Mattingly, 78, Exeter, died at 12:25 p.m. Sunday in a Cassville nursing home after a long illness.

Mrs. Mattingly was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Exeter and was a lifetime resident. She attended Hazel Dale School in Barry County. She had worked in a garment factory in Monett for about 20 years before retiring. She married Charley Mattingly on April 9, 1936. He died Jan. 15, 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Retha Jean Brattin, Wheaton, and Kay Harper, Anderson; a sister, Erma Brattin, Wheaton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. The Rev. Paul Yamall will officiate. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
