HANNIBAL - Beulah M. Elzea, 82, of Center, died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Roger Huff will officiate. Burial will be at Flint Hill Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elzea was born April 20, 1925, in Mulberry, Kan., to Ralph and Mable Haynes Parker.
She first married Russell Smith and he preceded her in death July 4, 1979. She then married Lloyd Elzea on June 9, 1986, in New London. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Fred Smith (Thelma) of Lees Summit, Eugene Smith of Hannibal, Johnny Ray Smith (Sharon) of Lees Summit and Jerry Lynn Smith of the state of Illinois; two daughters, Carolyn Marie Seward (Bud) of the state of Texas, and Nancy Freeman (Donald) of Belle; stepchildren, Bill Elzea (Becky) of Mexico, John Elzea (Dee) of New London, Lloyd Whitley of Bowling Green, David Elzea (Brandy) of Shelbina, Diane Brewer of St. Louis, and Mary Lee Fughey (Joe) of the state of Oklahoma; one brother, Ernie Parker of the state of Iowa; two sisters, Georgia Haynes of Branson, and Cecilia Ann Elzea (Marvin) of New London; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Grafton of Hull, Ill., and Cecilia Cooley of Branson; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Elzea was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley Mae Smith; one son, Jackie Leon Smith; one brother, Frank Parker; and two grandsons, Ronnie Smith and Jerry Lynn Smith.
Mrs. Elzea worked as a cook in area nursing homes. She enjoyed playing bingo, working puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family during the holidays. Mrs. Elzea attended Ariel Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to family, in care of James O'Donnell Funeral Home Inc.
Pallbearers will be Bill Elzea, John Elzea, David Elzea, Daniel Busby Jr., Elijah Williams and Donald Freeman.
