Rick was born of Clayton leon Dooley and Frances Louise Bramlett. He was married to Donna Dunkin Owen, however they were divorced at the time of his death. He had 4 children: Kenny, Phillip, Michael and Melissa (Twins). He adopted Kenny and Phillip, children of his wife's first marriage. They later changed their name back to their biological father's name, Owen. He attended Crooked Oak Schools graduating in 1967. His occupation as a young man was automotive repair, specializing in painting. Later, he was involved in housing repair and renovation. He was in poor health in the later years and died in his sleep. He was cremated and his daughter, Melissa is in possession of his ashes. He leaves 13 grandchildren.
