DEATHS & FUNERALS

Luby Dean
Luby Dean, 83, Asher, died Tuesday, July 31, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, at the Watts Chapel, Konawa. Interment will be in Vista Cemetery, Asher, under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Konawa.

Officiating will be the Rev. Wade Jernigan.

Dean was born January 5, 1907, in Jackson County, Ala., to Martin Luther and Mary A. (Browder) Dean.

An Asher resident since 1912, he was a farmer and rancher.

On February 12, 1929, Dean married Goldie Mae Gosnell in Pauls Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Goldie Dean, of the home; two daughters, LaVern Brinkman, Arcadia, Calif: and LaVeta Watson, Wadsworth, Ohio; three sons, Jerry Dean, Asher; James Denn, Lodi, Calif; and Jimmy Dean, Sayre; three sisters, Marie Millican, Albertville, Ala.; Ozelle Wilson, Modesto, Calif; and Louise Parker, Seattle, Wash.: 13 grandchildren and 8 great-Frandchildren.
