She was a 1961 graduate of Pendleton High School. She married James Barksdale, and he preceded her in death. Martha worked for the Department of Corrections in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ, the Red Hat Society of Indianapolis, she was a court appointed Special Advocate for Children, and was the President of the Resident's Council at Autumn Glen Assisted Living. She was always one to take a stand and fight for a cause she believed in. She loved her family, and given the opportunity, she would express her pride freely. She was a loving mother and granny whose interests included reading and doting on her grandchildren.
Martha is survived by a son, Jon (Christy) Clark of Greenfield; a daughter, Kristine Huntzinger of Pendleton; former son-in-law, Jim Huntzinger of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Garek and Quinlan Huntzinger, and Noah and Judy Ann Clark; and a sister, Sue Alford of Pendleton.
Minister Pat McDaniel will officiate services at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24, in Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home, Greenfield, with calling there from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005. Martha's final resting place will be in Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Buck Creek Township Fire Department, 6031 W. Station Way, Greenfield, IN 46140. (Indy Star)
