Mell Poignant, 89, of Chillicothe, died last Wednesday at the Shady Elms Convalescent Home. He was born in Woodford Co. on October 18, 1867, the son of John Wesley Poignant and Christina Mangin. He married Eliza Ratcliff in 1911. She died in 1933. Surviving are two children, John M. Poignant, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Mabel Rumbold of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, one great grandchild, brothers Lou of Washburn and Frank of Metamora, and sister mrs Melinda Brown of Chillicothe."
