Clara Speck and J. W. Ashford were married on December 23, 1909 in McClain County, Oklahoma by Reverend W. H. Cole, Baptist Minister.

Mrs. Clara Ashford Succumbs Sunday
HUGO --- Mrs. Clara Ashford, 68, of Rufe, died Sunday at 3 p.m. at Memorial hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Ashford, a widow, was born Nov. 7, 1889. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a son, Hoover D. Ashford of Rufe; four brothers, Clark Speck of Valliant, Luther and Clarence Speck, both of Mercedes, Calif., and Elmer Speck of Redwood Valley, Calif.; three sisters, Virgie McKinley of Valliant, Pearl Browning of Valliant, and Stella Sconyers of Mercedes, Calif., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rufe cemetery with Rev. W. M. Thompson officiating.
