Lived in the Phillips section of Peeks Hill in Calhoun County Alabama. She and her husband farmed a large section of land and were community leaders involved with their church and local school in this rural area.

Shurbutt (October 5, 1842 - March 23, 1930) and Mary Elizabeth Wilbanks Shurbutt (1845-1911) buried at Ten Island Cemetery, Ohatchee, AL; Mother of Charlie Grant Phillips (1886-1978); Grandmother of Zack Phillips II; Great Grandmother of Zachery Keith Phillips III; and Great Great Grandmother of Zachery Keith Phillips IV, and Whittney Amanda Phillips; Great Great Great grandmother of Hannah Lilyan Phillips, Jackson Paul Phillips-East, and Cora Lillie Belle Phillips.

Her son Charles Grant Phillips married Bertha Keenoum. Bertha died and Charles married Ila Bea Shealy. They had 9 children. Their son Zack Phillips II married Doris Faye Pike at the old Piedmont Highway Church of God in Etowah County. Zack and Doris had one child Zachery Keith Phillips III born in 1959 at Piedmont, Calhoun Co., Alabama. Zack and Doris moved to Atlanta in 1968. They lived in Buford, Gwinnett Co., Ga. Zachery Keith Phillips III married Mary Ellen Whitt on September 14, 1981 at the Gwinnett Co., Courthouse. Z. Keith and Mary Ellen had two children Zachery Keith Phillips IV born in 1985, and Whittney Amanda Phillips born in 1986. Z. Keith and Mary Ellen moved their family from Gwinnett County Georgia to Gallatin, Sumner County Tennessee in 1999, where Z. Keith Phillips served over 20 years as the Executice Director of Transportation for Metropoliteness Nashville Public Schools. Zachery Keith Phillips IV married Jessica Fuqua on July 13, 2007. They had one daughter Hannah Lilyan Phillips who was born at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. Whittney Amanda Phillips and Cory Alan East had one son Jackson Paul Phillips in 2014 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN, and Cora Lillie Belle Phillips born in 2018. Cory Alan East died in an accident on July 20, 2016.
