Opal Samples Volz is the daughter of Edgar Samples and Dora Ethel Wayne. She died at Jonesboro, Ark.
Opal G. Volz, 74, of Doniphan
died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24,
1996, at St. Bernard's Hospital in
Jonesboro, Ark. She had been ill for
two months.
Mrs. Volz was born June 19, 1921,
at Holcomb, Mo. A member of the
Oneness Pentecostal Church, she had
lived in Ripley County for the past 15
years. She was preceded in death by
all her husbands.
Survivors include five sons, Cletis
Davis of Hazelwood, Ronnie Davis
of Holcomb, Billy Martin and Jimmy
Cavaness, both of doniphan, and
Wayne Barns of Poplar Bluff, one
sister, Myrtle Fish of Doniphan, 12
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was at Edwards Funeral
Home in Honiphan. The funeral was
Monday in the funeral home chapel
with the Billie Whelchel officiating.
Burial was in the doniphen Cemetery.
Opal is preceded in death by a brother Everett, 2 half brothers Claudie B. Samples and Odie B. Samples, also her father Edgar Samples and mother Dora Ethel Wayne Samples.
Opal is survived by 2 half sisters Syble Marie Samples Dye and Shirley Jean Samples Massey and also a half brother Clarence Samples.
