James L. Bechdel, 67, of Mechanicsburg, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 in Holy Sprit Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was born in Lock Haven on Sept. 25, 1943, a son of the late David S. and Helen G. Barnhart Bechdel.

He attended Lock Haven High School.

Jim worked for Berkheimer Farm in Mechanicsburg.

He had served in the Army National Guard and enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbi Jo Kaiser of York; a son, James Bechdel of Windsor Locks, Conn., two sisters, Diane Keches of Mill Hall and Darla Anderson of Howard; two brothers, David of Tylersville and Phillip of Zion; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Schenck's Cemetery, Howard Township.

In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, Box 39, Beech Creek, Pa. 16822.
