Ruby Mary Lancaster was born the 3rd of 6 children born to John Edward Lancaster & Cara Alice Tuttle-Lancaster. Ruby was born in Peabody, Marion County, Kansas. She married Thomas Howard Puckett on 1/14/1919 in Emporia, Lyon County, Kansas. Ruby moved to Kingsburg California & in 1935 she & friend Ella Scheline founded the Ruby Ella shop which they owned & operated for the next 36 years. The shop was then sold and the new owners renamed it Rubyella in honor of Ruby & Ella.
Ruby was a member of the United Methodist church in Kingsburg, the order of Eastern Star in Selma, Heliotrope Chapter of Selma, and the Royal Neighbors of America. She had also been the past president of Kingsburg Post 191 American Legion Auxillary.
She was survived by her son Jack Puckett & a daughter Nadine Flack, many Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren.
Ruby was my Great-Aunt the sister of my Grandmother Elsie Mae Prouty. Aunt Rudy was a wonderful person full of life. She is loved & missed.
