Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late John Henry Earle and Belle Duffie Earle. Don was an assistant personnel manager at J.P. Stevens Plant in Clemson and personnel manager at Jantzen. He also served as music director in various churches in the Upstate.
He was a Christian and a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church, where he had served as music director, deacon, Sunday school teacher and pianist.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Kathryn Earle Shirley, and husband, David, of Taylors; son, Donald Kevin Earle, and wife, Katherine Mathis Earle of Seneca; and four grandchildren, Donald and Natasha Earle and Dana and Denise Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2006, at Reedy Fork Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006, at Seneca Mortuary.
