Death of Mrs. S. E. Fosnot
Mrs. Donna Louvina Hyde Fosnot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Hyde, was born near Memphis, Missouri December 15, 1866, and departed this life at the home of her eldest son, William C. Fosnot, at Sloan, Iowa, December 25, 1924, aged 58 years and 10 days.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Edward Fosnot, August 5, 1883. To this union were born eight children, two of whom preceded their mother in death in infancy. Those living are: William C. Fosnot, of Sloan, Iowa; Mrs. Edna Elder, of Woodward, Iowa; Harry Fosnot of Sioux City, Iowa; Alonzo Fosnot of Whiting, Iowa; Louvina G. Fosnot at home. Eleven grandchildren are living; also two sisters, Mrs. O. Hyde, Pond Creek, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Nora Gregory of Los Angeles, California.
In the early part of her life she united with the Methodist Church at Keosauqua, Iowa and had been an earnest Christian until death. Her illness had been very brief. While ailing for about two weeks before her death, it was not thought her condition was serious until about 12 o'clock on Christmas Day, when she was taken very ill and suffered a great deal until death. Three of her children were at her bedside when death came at 7:45 p.m.
Burial was at Whiting, Iowa, and the children being pallbearers.
