Mrs. Barnett was born on September 17, 1923 in Ellijay, GA. She is the daughter of the late H.C. Payne & Charity Belle May Payne. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, a Pink Lady, the Quilting Guild and a Brownie Troop Leader. She was also owner the of BAB Gifts in downtown Ellijay. She enjoyed traveling and quilting. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Robert "Bob" Barnett & grandson Robby Barnett.
Survivors include: Daughter & son-in-law: Cheryl & Billy Simmons, Ellijay; Sons & daughters-in-law: Robert C. & Sherrie Barnett, Ocala, FL Tim & Susan Barnett, Gastonia, NC; Grandchildren: Meredith Barnett Horne & Richie Horne, Gastonia, NC; Great grandchildren: Parker & Riley Horne Blake & Beth Barnett all of Gastonia, NC; Sister: Anna Lee Morgan, Gainesville, GA
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Ellijay, GA. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Hospice Advantage @ 583 Highland Crossing Suite 210 East Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Barnett. Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
