Hubert A. Dreiling, 67, 503 Canterbury, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997 at the Hays Medical Center. He was born Nov. 25, 1929 on the family farm northwest of Victoria to Alphonse J. and Sophie (Sander) Dreiling.

He graduated from Victoria High School and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Clementine Zerr on Feb. 15, 1957 in Hays.

He was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion, Hays; a member and past commander of the Victoria VFW; a director of the Victoria Community Credit Union; and a member of the Victoria Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, David and Chris Dreiling, Hays; a daughter, Sandra Gottschalk, Hays; his mother, Sophie of Victoria; five brothers, Marvin O., of Hays, Alfred J. and Thomas, both of Victoria, Charles of Dallas, and James of Wichita; four sisters, Lorraine Bird of Bethel Park, Pa., Lucy Roth of Wichita, Ruth Stephens of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Theresa Ellis of Boulder, Colo.; four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Elmer, and a sister, Mary Ellen Dell.

Services were Friday at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, with Father Frank Grinko officiating; burial with military honors by the Victoria VFW in the church cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Oncology Unit of the Hays Medical Center, 2220 Canterbury.
