Robert J. Badura, known to all of us who loved him as Bob, passed away peacefully at his home in Plymouth, WI on Sunday afternoon, October 10, 2010.
Bob was born July 15, 1933 in Kohler, WI to Joseph and Wilma (Katte) Badura.
He was a graduate of Kohler High School where he was a three-sport athlete playing football, basketball and track. He carried this to a scholarship at UW – Madison for basketball, graduating in 1955.
He joined the US Navy and became a Lieutenant Commander serving active duty overseas and was then in the US Naval Reserves for twenty years.
Bob worked in sales for K.W. Muth Company in Sheboygan for over twenty years. He then opened his own business, RJB Sales in 1981 working as a manufacturers representative.
He was an avid golfer and after retiring in 1994 shared his time playing between Pine Hills Country Club in Sheboygan in the summer and Grenelefe, Florida in the winter. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always a presence in any company. Extremely well-liked and respected, he was often asked for advice from all his extended family members. He was accepting of all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of thirteen years and her three children, Cindy (Bill), Cathy (Scott) and Vince (Leah); his son, Tom (Judy) Badura of Sheboygan; his daughter, Janice (Rick) Schindler of Sammamish, WA and their mother, Elizabeth Kessler; his grandchildren, David (Shannon) and Tamara Badura and Erin and Collin Schindler; his sister, Janice Holton of Delaware and her four children, Cindy, Suzanne, Mike and Rob. Bob also has three stepdaughters, Lori, Lisa (John) and Liz from his previous wife, Mary Badura who preceded him in death; twelve step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Rod Holton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 at Ballhorn Chapels. Nancy Simenz, Chaplain of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, will officiate.
Bob's sense of humor was a mainstay of his personality that we all loved and he never ran out of jokes to share. This stayed with him right to the end. As Bob would often say, "I'll leave you with this story….."
