Kent was in his 29th year of teaching fifth grade at Concord Elementary School in Troy, Ohio (and was eyeing retirement) when he passed away unexpectedly in the late afternoon of Saturday, October 21, 2000. He was a graduate of Eaton (OH) High School, Defiance College and Wright State University. He left behind his wife (my sister) and three teenage sons.
