"Dorothy Dog" Dorothy Eugene Galloway Abercrombie Wilde, 92, returned to her heavenly home on October 18, 2010 from her daughter's home in Santa Clara, Utah.
She was born April 10, 1918 in American Falls, Idaho to George Simon Galloway and Edna Erroll Hubbard. Dorothy was the 6th child of eight children. She spent her youth and school years in American Falls. Dorothy and Arthur Lewis Abercrombie were married in Pocatello, Idaho on January 11, 1936. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple 28 March, 1964.
Dorothy was a hard worker. She worked in the potato industry at the J. R. Simplot Co. for 25 years. She followed the potato industry working in Idaho and California. At the death of her husband, she retired and moved to St. George. She later met and married Del Wilde. In Utah, she created a new career for herself at Linns Market in Santa Clara where she was still employed. She loved her job as "Dorothy Dog". People traveled far to buy a Dorothy Dog and visit with her. She loved her customers and the customers loved her. She was also well known for her homemade candy.
She is survived by her children, Donna Copeland of Santa Clara, Gary and Sherian Abercrombie of Aberdeen, ID and Maril and Lani Abercrombie of Sandy, UT; and her sister, Betty Grosebeck of Pocatello, ID. She was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 39 + great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Abercrombie and Del Wilde; her parents; brothers, George and Ray Galloway; sisters, Willena Galloway Blazer, Loretta Galloway Taylor, Fleta Galloway Parrish, Bonnie Galloway Rice; and great-grandson, John Gardella
