Hatcher Funeral Rites Are Scheduled

Annabel Frances Hatcher, 46, of Independence, Kan. [sic], formerly of Kirksville, died Monday (Sept. 5, 1977) in Independence. Death was unexpected and attributed to an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, (Sept. 10, 1977) at 11 o'clock in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Veg, assistant pastor of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.

The daughter of George Dewey and Jessie Rockwood Sanders she was born in Columbia on Jan. 4, 1931. She married to Junior Hatcher who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her father, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her mother of Kirksville; seven sisters, Nancy Hemphill of California, Faye Martin of Kirksville, Virginia Scott of Granite City, Evelyn Hysell of Kirksville, Barbara Martin of St. Johns, Cathy Clayborn of Quincy, Ill., and Norma Sanders of Kirksville; two brothers, Leonard Sanders of Kirksville and Tom Sanders, also of Kirksville, 21 nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Hatcher lived in Kirksville until 1968 when she moved to Independence. She had been a waitress until her retirement due to ill health.
