Byrde was the only daughter born to William Wallace "Bud" Barker and Missouri Jack (SWAIN) Barker. All of Byrde's siblings were brothers (6)....Byrde was 5 years old when her father died.
Byrde's husband is also buried at the Old Oak Clif Cemetery. They have a double bronze flat marker.
Byrde died from Acute myocardial infarction instantly. She had suffered with heart disease for about 25 years. Her Son Sam Alston was the informant on her Texas death certificate. At the time of her death she was a resident of Amarillo, TX address was 4800 W. 15th St. At the time of her husbands death they lived in Dalworth Park, Dallas Co., Texas.
Byrde's husband, Samuel M. Alston, was in the Real Estate Business. Four years before he passed away he recieved a back injury. His father was Thomas Alston born in Georgia and his mother was Laura Moore born in LA.
The Old Oak Clif cemetery has many prominent Dallas County Pioneers and citizens buried there. It is considered to be a valuable and historic link to the early settlement of Dallas, Dallas Co., Texas. It is located on the corner of 8th and Corinth Streets in Dallas and has a large Iron Arch Over the Entrance that reads Oak Cliff Cemetery. There is also a Historical Marker to remind others of the Cemetery's Long History.

ALSTON, Mrs. BYRDE
Mrs. Byrde B. Alston, 79, died Wednesday at 3 a.m. at her home, 4800 W. 15th. Mrs. Alston had lived in Amarillo about six months, coming here from Arlington, where she was a resident for 20 years. She was born June 3, 1878, in Ellis County.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Moore Funeral Home at Arlington, with burial in the old Oak Cliff Cemetery at Dallas. Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home had charge of arrangements here. Mrs. Alston is survived by a son, Sam M. Alston, and a brother, Frank W. Barker, both of Amarillo. Newspaper unknown, dated May 1, 1958,
