Harriett A. Hattie, Arthur Hamilton, Howard Charles, Cecil M., and William G.were children born to Horatio Nelson (Joe)and Sarah Amanda Hillman Sherman.
Horatio was the son of Nelson and Harriett _____ Sherman, both of NY State.
Sarah Amanda was the daughter of Ezra and Permelia Horton Hillman, both of Montgomery Co NY.
Arthur married Anna M. Fried 01 Nov 1899 in Jamestown ND.
Frieda was the daughter of Ulrich and Sidonia _____ Fried, both born Switzerland.
Erma, a daughter was the only child born to their marriage. Erma married Youart Rudesdale Fletcher abt 1923 Stutsman Co ND. Their marriage produced 7 children, 5 sons, 2 daughters. Erma died Oct 1967 at Jamestown ND.
Arthur had many different jobs while living in ND: Machinery sales, farming, real estate sales, and his final job was an auditor.

Passed Away At Home Sunday Morning
Arthur Hamilton Sherman, Stutsman county auditor, passed away suddenly at his home Sunday morning at 8:00 o'clock from a heart attack. Mr. Sherman has not been in good health for some time, but had been able to attend to his duties at the court house and had worked Saturday.
Mr. Sherman was born in Lockport, New York, Aug 23, 1875. He attended school there and was graduated from the high school when a young man. In 1895 he came to Spiritwood where an uncle, W.H. Sherman lived. He taught school for five years, then sold machinery and acted as collector for a large machine company.
Miss Anna Fried and Mr. Sherman were married at the farm home of the bride at Fried, November 1, 1899. They made their first home in Valley City and then moved to Carrington. At the latter place Mr. Sherman was employed by S. J. Doyle. For a period of eight years they lived on a farm near Fried. Since that time they have moved their home to Jamestown.
Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Y.R. Fletcher of near Courtenay, and six grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. H.N. Sherman of Lockport; two sisters, Mrs. William Gilrie of Lockport, and Mrs. Dennis Cook of Niles. Mich.; two brothers, Howard Sherman of Dixon, Neb., and William G. Sherman of Lockport.
Those who came from out of the city included, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Gilrie of Lockport, N.Y. and Mrs. Dennis Cook of Niles, Mich. The women are sisters of the deceased.
Burial will be in Highland Home cemetery.
