He was a son of Elijah "Doc" Alsup and Sidney Louella Medlock. He married Edna Louisa Beaury on October 11, 1920 at Caruthersville, MO.
He is survived by his widow Edna Alsup of Des Plaines, IL; five sons, Wilber Alsup, Warren Alsup, Wayne Alsup, Richard Alsup, and Ernest Alsup; four daughters, Mrs. Norma Poplin, Mrs. Margaret Vickery, Mrs. Eva Bowling and Mrs. Luella Colbenson; seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Martha Cloninger, Mrs. Sally McClanahan, Mrs. Nettie Portis, Howard Alsup, Willie Alsup, Albert Alsup and Joseph Alsup, and 33 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Edith Juanita Alsup, one brother John Nolin Alsup, a sister, Ivy Mae Murphy, and a grandson, Stephen Dale Alsup.
