Jacob B. Leighton of East Main street, died on Saturday evening, March 18th. The deceased was 88 years of age. He is survived by a wife Sophia T., and one son, Bert D. Leighton of Vestal. The funeral was held at his late home on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. C. L. Luther officiated. The pallbearers were John Eldredge, Harry E Saylor. Thomas P. Meeker and Warren Mercereau. Miss Helen Hooper and Mrs. John Witherill sang "Nearer My God to Thee, and Abide with Me." Burial was in Riverside cemetery
